We will examine using specific language and models to support student understanding of fraction concepts and operations. Participants will work through sample problems and investigate student work, starting with how we define, talk about, and model fractions and how that impacts the operations we later perform. Throughout the session, we will work to make connections across grade levels and other mathematics areas.
