Elementary Summer Institute 2024

This session will equip you with the tools to help your students develop algebraic thinking. We will delve into using visual representations, such as the bar model, and how they can support our students in using mathematical language and making sense of operations. You'll have the opportunity to explore specific classroom tasks and student work, starting with examples and tasks from grade 3 and ending with connections to concepts in grade 6. By the end of the session, you'll be equipped with practical strategies to enhance your students' algebraic thinking.
